Orange Black White Church Yout

ARE YOU READY?

It’s December 9th.
Everywhere you look, there’s movement, busy hands, crowded shops, long queues, lights flickering in windows, parcels arriving at the door.
We make lists, we check them twice, we choose gifts, wrap gifts, hide gifts.
Our calendars fill up. Our wallets shrink.
And our homes slowly transform into places of sparkle, tradition, and celebration.

But as we prepare for Christmas, there is a bigger question waiting quietly behind it all:

Are we ready for God to interrupt our plans?

Because the first Christmas was not carefully scheduled or perfectly arranged.
It was a holy interruption, a divine breaking-in that changed the world forever.

Mary wasn’t planning a miraculous pregnancy.

She was preparing for marriage.
But then the angel said:

“You will conceive and give birth to a son… the Son of the Most High.”
— Luke 1:31–32

Joseph wasn’t planning to raise the Son of God.

He wanted a peaceful, ordinary life.
But God redirected him:

“Do not be afraid… what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
— Matthew 1:20

The shepherds weren’t planning a supernatural encounter.

They expected another night in the fields.
But heaven opened:

“The glory of the Lord shone around them… I bring you good news of great joy.”
— Luke 2:9–10

None of them expected God to step into their normal day.
Yet He did.
And He still does.

God is still Emmanuel God With Us (Matthew 1:23)

He is not distant.
He is not waiting for a perfect moment, a perfect home, or a perfectly organised Christmas.

He steps into:

our busyness,

our overwhelm,

our ordinary days,

our unexpected seasons,
just as He stepped into Mary and Joseph’s lives.

Christmas is not just a season of preparation;
it’s an invitation to openness.

An invitation to believe that God may move in ways we did not plan, through situations we did not foresee.

“In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps.”
— Proverbs 16:9

So as we move through December, heaven asks us a gentle question:
Are you ready for God to step into your plans?

Are you ready for Him to adjust your priorities?
To whisper into your home?
To shift your focus?
To bring light into areas you’ve forgotten about?

Mary said, “May it be to me as you have said.” (Luke 1:38)
Joseph obeyed the Lord (Matthew 1:24).
The shepherds hurried to see what God had done (Luke 2:15–16).

They welcomed the interruption, and found themselves in the middle of God’s greatest story.

This December, may we do the same.

May we prepare our hearts as much as we prepare our houses.
May we welcome Christ into our routines, our decisions, our celebrations, and our quiet moments.

Because the world may be getting ready for Christmas…

But heaven is asking if we are ready for Christ.
Ready to be guided.
Ready to listen.
Ready to be interrupted by God’s love.
